KYC Training: which course is right for you?

Know Your Customer (KYC) is the mandatory process of identifying and verifying your customer when they create an account. This usually involves verifying identity documents, checking against watchlists, and sometimes undertaking further due diligence through open-source intelligence gathering and investigations.

The KYC process changes between organisations, so it’s important to understand which training would benefit your staff the most. PDA has provided training to a wide variety of organisations in the public, private and charity sectors including NHS Foundation Trusts, AXA Insurance, Manchester County Council, Barnardo’s, World Food Programme, Big Lottery Fund and the DVLA.

PDA delivers three main training courses for KYC teams:

Digital Document Fraud (DDF) Training

If your team deals with digital documents (such as photographs of ID cards and bills, scans of passports or PDFs of utility or education documents) this course is the most suitable. The DDF training course provides students with the skills to identify if a digital image or file has been tampered with, as well as extract hidden or extra information on the sender of the file.

We offer this course as both a fully online training course and a classroom-based course in partnership with CIFAS.

To find out more information about the online course and to book, go to:

If you are in the UK, the classroom version of the course is delivered in partnership with CIFAS:

Identity Document Fraud Training

If your team deals with physical documents (such as the actual passport and travel documents) then this course is most suitable. The Identity Document training courses provides students with the skills to recognise if a genuine travel document has been falsified or altered and provides students with a firm understanding of the Identity Document Act 2010.

If you are in the UK, the classroom version of the course is delivered in partnership with CIFAS:

Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) Training

If your team is conducting further investigation into customers, such as checks on social media, forums and other online sources, this course is most suitable. The OSINT training course provides students with the skills to safely and professionally conduct open-source intelligence gathering on the internet and social media.

We offer this course as both a fully online training course and a classroom-based course.
