Operational Services
If your need for surveillance is infrequent and the cost of maintaining a trained surveillance team is prohibitive, a cost effective solution is to engage our associate team of operatives to obtain the evidence for you. The surveillance team has operatives drawn from all aspects of Government and Commercial Covert Surveillance. The underpinning strength of the team is in their former training and experience and most importantly their continued professional development and operational commitment.
Surveillance is defined in the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) as:
Monitoring, observing or listening to persons, their movements, their conversations or their other activities or communications; Recording anything monitored, observed or listened to in the course of surveillance; and
Surveillance by or with the assistance of a surveillance device. This is defined in RIPA as meaning “any apparatus designed or adapted for use in surveillance”. This therefore includes cameras, video cameras, listening and recording devices etc.
Surveillance is covert if and only if it is carried out in a manner that is calculated to ensure that the persons who are subject to the surveillance are unaware that it is or may be taking place.
We fully understand that the evidence the team obtain must be robust and open to withstand rigorous legal examination. Therefore the operatives always conduct covert surveillance in a manner that is compliant with RIPA guidelines. The tactics employed, equipment, recording of information and presentation of intelligence gathered through the use of covert surveillance will stand up to any scrutiny.

Fraud Loss Measurement

If you don’t know about your fraud and error problem, how can you apply the right solution?

Measuring the losses to fraud and error should be at the forefront of any organisations counter fraud strategy. Both public and private sector organisations have to be aware of the cost of fraud and error before they can successfully implement a strategy for reducing it. Fraud Loss Measurement (FLM) is an effective tool in identifying fraud, quantifying losses, managing losses and ensuring money is spent on the purpose for which it was intended. We offer:   Professionally accredited training enabling students to accurately assess the fraud and error in their organisations. The training attracts 20 level 4 credits and can be undertaken by managers and practitioners. The training is proving immensely popular and has been delivered to staff from central government, local authorities and the private sector. The training module consists of:
  • Two days classroom training
  • The use of case study scenarios
  • A post course assignment
  • A multiple-choice question test
A training solution that is not accredited is available if preferred.

Identity Document Fraud
Identity fraud is a key fraud enabler and closing the gateway to identity fraudsters is crucial to minimising the loss to fraud for any organisation. Ian, our subject matter expert, has hands on experience of leading major operations involving forged and counterfeit documentation. He can deliver training in identity document examination to enable students, with the aid of forgery detection equipment, to:
  • Correctly identify security features used in documents
  • Accurately demonstrate an ability to recognise a counterfeit document
The training is relevant for all front line staff whose role involves inspecting documents regularly used for confirming an individual’s identity such as Passports and Driving Licences. It is also relevant for staff and managers whose responsibilities include vetting and pre-employment checks.
